Radford University's Department of Geography maintains a Trimble Community Base Station 12 channel Compact L1 with groundplane antennae on top of the Cook Hall for International Education Building in Radford, Virginia. The antennae collects differential error correction data for users of Trimble GPS units. The data is collected hourly, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and are placed on this FTP site for use by the public.

Here are some pertinent facts about the base station antennae:

                                                    Latitude:               37°   08'  08.5759" N

                                                    Longitude:           080°  32'  56.2098" W

                                                    Height (HAE):     541.701 meters

These coordinates are referenced using NAD 83 (North American Datum). The height is referenced to the ellipsoid, not to sea level. Accuracy is within 3 centimeters. Important: Radford Unversity makes this data available "as is" and assumes no responsibility for accuracy or its use by the public!

Files on the FTP site are in the Trimble .DAT format. You must have access to software that can read this file format!

Files will be kept on this web site for 30 days. Once deleted, they are gone for good, so please download them in a timely manner!
